Saman Shabani, MD

Sam grew up in Iran and left the country at the age of 16 due to religious persecution.  He and his family ended up in Los Angeles, where he later attended UCLA for undergraduate training in Psychobiology and graduated with Distinct Honors. Continuing his education, he moved to Long Island, New York to attended Stony Brook School of Medicine and received his medical degree.

He has won numerous awards such as Golden Key International Honor Society. He is member or AANS, CNS, and NAAS.

He has two younger brothers: one is a fourth medical student at UW-Madison and will be going into ENT, and the other is still in high school. In his free time, he likes to spend time with his fiancé and family and to travel.

His interests in neurosurgery include: complex and minimally invasive spine surgeries, spinal tumors, and brain tumors.
