Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin

Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin, founded in 1894, is one of the nation’s top pediatric facilities. Care is provided to children throughout Wisconsin, Michigan, and northern Illinois, and several programs have a national referral base. Children’s Hospital also is a Level I Pediatric Trauma Center verified by the American College of Surgeons. Last year the Emergency room treated 59,984 children, and the surgical services performed 14,628 procedures.

The hospital has 296 inpatient beds, including 72 intensive care beds housed in a new West Tower expansion opened in 2009. Neurosurgical patients are cared for within one intensive care unit, and a combined Neuroscience in-patient unit with a dedicated epilepsy monitoring unit. A dedicated Neuroscience outpatient clinic accommodates the neurosurgery, neurology and multi-disciplinary brain tumor clinics.
